Our Roots Run Deep
Decades of quality livestock marketing in south-central Kansas, built on great cattle and even better people.
About Reno County Stockyards
A South Hutchinson livestock market with more than 80 years of history, now serving Reno County under Winter family ownership.
A Market Since 1945
Reno County Stockyards has been part of the Hutchinson livestock community since 1945, when the market first opened as Central Livestock Sales Co. Under auctioneer and owner, C. L. Davenport, the sale barn provided area farmers and ranchers with a local marketplace for buying and selling livestock.
From its earliest years, Central Livestock Sales Co. has marketed a variety of livestock, including cattle, horses and mules, hogs, sheep and goats. The market continued operating in South Hutchinson for decades, maintaining its place within the livestock industry of Reno County and the surrounding region.

A New Chapter
In 2025, it entered a new chapter under Winter family ownership and was renamed Reno County Stockyards. Today, they continue to serve the region's livestock producers while preserving the history, community and sale barn traditions that have made the market a familiar part of Hutchinson for generations.
More than 80 years after the first sale in South Hutchinson, the barn remains right where it belongs—serving the livestock producers of Reno County.
